November 26, 2009 vs. New York Giants
The Broncos’ best win ever on Thanksgiving also came in the most recent game they have played on the holiday. It has been 12 years since the Broncos had a Thanksgiving day game, making it hard to remember the beating they put on the Giants.
This was impressive because of the way the Broncos won.
The Giants were the No.1 overall seed in the 2008 playoffs and were still a good team in 2009 led by Eli Manning. Both teams came into this game with matching 6-4 records but the Broncos were the better team throughout, leading to a 26-6 win.
Knowshon Moreno and Brandon Stokley scored touchdowns for the Broncos and Matt Prater kicked four field goals but the defense was the story of the game, harassing Manning and making him look quite average. Manning threw an interception and was sacked three times as the Giants managed to put just two field goals on the board.
This game also helped stop the bleeding for the Broncos that season, at least temporarily. After roaring out to a 6-0 start, the Broncos lost four games in a row before defeating the Giants handily in prime time.
