Denver Broncos: Who should the team target in the 2022 NFL Draft?

This question strictly depends on a number of other questions.

1. What type of quarterback is the team looking for?
2. Are they more comfortable with any quarterback in the first round than they are of Teddy Bridgewater or Drew Lock?
3. If not quarterback, what position?
4. Who’s available when they pick?

The Denver Broncos chose to stay put at the ninth overall pick in this previous draft to take Alabama cornerback Pat Surtain. The previous draft was a draft to build for the future. They’ve done that with several of their picks but also unfortunately missed on some as they proved themselves, waiving receiver Seth Williams and defensive lineman Marquiss Cooper.

A guy that I am a huge fan of in the upcoming draft is Purdue defensive end George Karlaftis. Whether or not they have their eye on him will depend on if the team’s next head coach (assuming Vic Fangio is let go at the end of the season) has a place for him on the roster.

Karlaftis has a tremendous motor and is quick with his feet. He could dominate opposing offensive tackles and that’s extremely important especially in a division like the AFC West with Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert on the other side.

While, yes, Karlaftis would be a defensive end, he could be one of the team’s ways of replacing Von Miller, who was traded to the Los Angeles Rams.
