Players giving the Broncos a post-bye boost: Baron Browning, LB

Prior to the bye week, the availability of rookie linebacker Baron Browning has been sparse, to say the least.

Browning has missed time for one reason or another dating back to training camp, but he showed off his outstanding potential over the last few weeks as a three-down player for the Broncos.

Against the Philadelphia Eagles, Browning had to leave the game with back issues that flared up during the week in practice, but after the bye week, he should be back healthy and ready to roll.

Browning’s outstanding athleticism and range have been put to good use as he’s gotten into the lineup, and he seems to be working very well with trade acquisition Kenny Young.

It doesn’t matter what team you are — you need a little luck to remain unscathed in the injury department throughout the season. The Broncos will need some luck for Browning to stay on the field for an extended period of time, but having both him and Kenny Young available for the final seven games could be a game-changer for the defense.

It’s clear that they need to get Avery Williamson up to speed a little quicker in case they need reinforcements, but if Browning and Young can come out of the bye week feeling fresh and ready to go, the Broncos’ defense will get a substantial boost.
