5 retread head coach options the Broncos could pursue for 2022
Raheem Morris a head coach candidate for Broncos?
4. Raheem Morris (Rams DC)
Raheem Morris is a fascinating coach on the circuit for 2022.
He was previously one of the youngest head coaches in league history when Tampa Bay hired him back in 2009 at the age of 33.
That didn’t work out, so he’s been with a couple of teams over the last decade-plus, including Washington, Atlanta (2015-20), and now the Los Angeles Rams.
With Washington, Morris served as the team’s defensive backs coach. In Atlanta, he had a variety of roles including being the assistant head coach to Dan Quinn. He was named interim head coach upon Quinn’s firing last season.
The Rams have a ton of star power and the 12th-ranked defense so far in 2021 with Morris calling the shots.
He made it to the Super Bowl in 2016 with Quinn and the Falcons and was even the team’s wide receivers coach that year.
Morris has been around a lot of good coaches and it would be fascinating to see what he’s picked up from all of them in the last decade, since he had his last opportunity to be a head coach. He’s also just 45 years old.
