5 Broncos players who should be benched during the bye week

5. Kyle Fuller (again)

It’s a shame it’s come to this, and who knows whether Vic Fangio will pull the plug (again) on Kyle Fuller, but the time has seemingly come.

Fuller had a solid game against the Dallas Cowboys in relief of some injured teammates, even earning a game ball from the coaching staff for his ability to move all around the defensive formation.

He had never played nickel before, and did a solid job against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, although upon further review of the tape he was also bailed out by some missed opportunities on Dallas’ end.

Against the Eagles, Fuller was back to giving up big plays, including a touchdown to DeVonta Smith in the red zone where the Broncos ran Cover 0 and Fuller was left on an island against the rookie.

Whether he has just lost a step in terms of speed or is just in his head about a couple of bad games to start the year, Fuller has played poorly this season for the Broncos and reinforcements are now available.

Essang Bassey is off of the injury report and is available to play moving forward. Coming off of the bye week, the Broncos should be looking to get Bassey some reps out there at the nickel, or maybe even more Nate Hairston who played solid against Dallas as well.
