3 bad reasons the Broncos will probably pass on Odell Beckham Jr.

2. The QB isn’t going to be able to get him the ball anyway

One of the most frequently repeated responses I get on Twitter when posing a question or idea about a possible pass-catcher in Denver?

We don’t have a QB who can throw him the ball.

It was as hilarious five years ago as it is today.

All sarcasm and kidding aside, this is a terrible reason not to get a receiver of Odell Beckham Jr.’s caliber.

What you’re essentially saying with this argument is that the Broncos should pass up any possible upgrade to their offensive weaponry because the QB position is unsettled.

That is ridiculous.

That one is right up there with the strategy of intentionally not drafting Alabama or USC quarterbacks.

Teddy Bridgewater may not be playing the best football he’s ever played over the last four weeks, but you certainly shouldn’t compound that by intentionally passing on an opportunity to get him some better weapons.

The Broncos had planned on 2020 second-round pick KJ Hamler being an integral part of the offense in 2021. He’s out with a knee injury, and his speed has not been replaced whatsoever in the lineup.

Denver had the right idea with John Brown, but they released him off the practice squad at his request, but only after they refused to bump him up to the active roster.

Not having a solidified or ideal QB situation is a horrible reason not to put in a waiver claim on a player like Odell Beckham Jr.
