Drew Lock is back at quarterback for the Denver Broncos, at least for now.
Following halftime of the team’s game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4, Lock was in at quarterback for the Broncos, replacing Teddy Bridgewater. Just before the break, Bridgewater was taken into the blue medical tent and Lock began to warm up on the sideline.
The Ravens took a 17-7 lead into halftime and have outplayed the Broncos through the first 30 minutes, but now things are really up in the air. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Bridgewater is being evaluated for a concussion.
Lock will now come into a difficult situation off the bench, trailing by 10 points and looking to help keep the Broncos undefeated on the 2021 season. Lock lost what most described as an extremely close quarterback competition this summer.
To this point, Bridgewater has proven to be the right choice as the starter.
But Bridgewater was not having his best day against this Ravens defense, completing just 7 of 16 passes for 65 yards, though he did throw a touchdown pass to Noah Fant to open the game’s scoring.
Can Drew Lock rally the Broncos?
Lock will need to pick up where Bridgewater left off in the first three games and he will have to do that without Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler, a position Lock has to be familiar with as it seems he has never had his full arsenal of offensive weapons at his disposal.
Can Lock rally the Broncos to come from behind and move to 4-0? How serious will the concussion be for Bridgewater? Sideline reporter Amanda Balionis has confirmed that he will not return to this game.
It’s Lock’s show the rest of the way.
