Stock Up

Teddy Bridgewater

For the first time in a while, the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos finds himself featured on the right side of our weekly stock report in two consecutive weeks. Outperforming his Week 1 performance against the Giants, Bridgewater finished the day with 328 pass yards, two touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and a QBR of 125.6.

The Denver Broncos faced backlash after announcing Teddy Bridgewater would be taking the starting snaps of an offense that has severely lacked consistency from the quarterback. The primary concern of fans was that Bridgewater was the “safe” choice, and would not be bold enough to air the ball out. Called the “checkdown king”, many felt he would only be good in short-gain situations for the Broncos’ offense.

However, Bridgewater has been slinging the ball with seemingly no fear. Also, on a side note, his longest pass Sunday was good for 55 yards.

Though it is still early, fans have to like what they have seen from Bridgewater so far. Not only has Bridgewater been accurate in the passing game, he has been able to take off and pick up yardage with his legs, an especially important factor with Bridgewater facing significant pressure in Week 2.

We may have a lot of football left, but Bridgewater has only proven so far that the Denver Broncos made the right choice as to who should be under center.
