5 Denver Broncos players who must step up vs. Jaguars

1. Courtland Sutton, WR

It’s great to have Courtland Sutton back.

After missing week one of the 2020 season with a shoulder injury and most of the 2020 season with a knee injury, Sutton has returned to the field and in his first game of preseason action against the Los Angeles Rams, he looked good.

Sutton looked fresh out there in his first action back, and the goal now is obviously going to be comfortability as the season progresses.

The Denver Broncos lost Jerry Jeudy in the week one win over the New York Giants to an ankle injury that could sideline him up to six weeks of the season.

Nobody wanted that injury to happen and everyone would rather be griping about how the target share is being distributed on a week-to-week basis, but the absence of Jeudy means the Broncos’ offense and Teddy Bridgewater have no choice but to involve Sutton more than with three targets against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As big as Sutton’s one reception against the Giants was (a fourth-down conversion) there is no question that we all want to see more from the team’s WR1.

Heck, I’m of the opinion that Sutton is the best player on the team when healthy. He’s got that kind of talent and ability.

I think in week two against the Jaguars, we’re going to see that on full display.
