With the Denver Broncos holding a 10-7 lead over the New York Giants, Jerry Jeudy has left the game with what looks to be a serious ankle injury.

Facing a 3rd-and-7 from the New York 33-yard line, Teddy Bridgewater hit Jerry Jeudy over the middle of the field for a gain of 20 yards. Jeudy was ridden to the turf by a Giants defender and at first, it appeared the ball came loose and the ruling on the field was that the Giants had recovered the fumble.

Replays showed that Jeudy was down before the ball came out, but those same replays also showed his ankle turn in an awkward direction. Moments later, the cart was on the field to take Jeudy off and he left with his hands over his face, clearly emotional.

To that point, Jeudy was having a productive game, catching six passes for 72 yards.

This scene is familiar for Broncos fans, who watched as the team’s other star wide receiver, Courtland Sutton, had a season-ending injury early in the year last season. Hopefully, this won’t be as bad as it looked, but it did look bad.

The below video is graphic, so watch at your own peril.

The Broncos will now need to rely on Sutton, Tim Patrick and K.J. Hamler the rest of the way but you can bet the team will be looking at wide receivers as early as tomorrow if this injury is going to force Jeudy to miss an extended period of time.

A report from the sideline stated that Jeudy was being evaluated for a lower leg injury and he has been ruled out for the remainder of this game.
