3. Broncos finish top-3 in sacks

What are some of the Denver Broncos’ biggest strengths? You’ve got a strong wide receiver group, a good running back tandem, an amazing secondary, and a pass rush group that consists of a lot of talent.

Von Miller and Bradley Chubb are the two stars on the edge. Big things are expected from that duo after being unable to be on the field at the same time over the last two seasons. This duo should prove to be dominant right off the bat in 2021. Both are coming off of major injuries and surgeries but they showed up in limited preseason action and I don’t think there’s reason to believe that won’t carry over into the regular season.

Miller has been ultra-consistent in his career, regularly eclipsing ten sacks more often than not. Chubb came back from a 2019 ACL tear and recorded 7.5 sacks in 2020 after registering 12 in his rookie year in 2018.

This is their time to shine.

They get to start off the season against three young quarterbacks, including the first two overall picks in the 2021 NFL Draft (Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson). I fully expect them to create problems for those two. They’ll have to get into a groove early on because, in week 4, the Broncos face the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson.

Let’s also not forget about Malik Reed, who had eight sacks for the team in 2020. We could see him as well as 7th-round pick Jonathon Cooper have their fair share of snaps this season. Cooper has been a very nice surprise ever since minicamp.

Dre’Mont Jones has also stepped up early on on the defensive line, so we should see plenty of him, Shelby Harris, Mike Purcell, and McTelvin Agim make opposing offenses have problems.
