Of course, because what else could it be? The same storyline that has hovered over Denver since the retirement of Peyton Manning is the quarterback spot and how well that quarterback will play.

Unfortunately, the Broncos have had to use a bunch of quarterbacks since the Manning era, and the latest is Teddy Bridgewater, who was able to beat out Drew Lock for the job. Though there are those that still disagree with that decision, Broncos fans must rally around the veteran Bridgewater.

Bridgewater won the job for a few reasons. His experience and his ability to stay calm in the pocket were believed to be the biggest factors, and he will need to stay calm in the road opener. Though the Giants have missed the playoffs in each of the last four seasons, the home crowd will still get loud and make it tough on the opponent.

Bridgewater will need to make smart decisions and basically be the game manager that this team is looking for. So long as Bridgewater makes no critical errors and gets his team in a position to score points, leaving the big plays up to the defense, that is how Fangio wants to win games this year.

There won’t be a bigger storyline in Week 1 for the Broncos than  Bridgewater’s debut running the show.
