Former Denver Broncos Cornerback Bradley Roby is on the move once again, but this time he’s out of the AFC.

It was reported Wednesday morning that Houston Texans cornerback and former Denver Broncos first-round pick and Super Bowl champion Bradley Roby would be trading in his blue and red threads for black and gold.

The 29-year-old will be entering his 8th NFL season but will have to sit out week one due to finishing up his six-week PED suspension from last season, however, will serve impact for the Saints in week two.

Roby has always had his cleats on the line of potential and now can make that leap in New Orleans. Roby will join Marshon Lattimore, Ken Crawley, Paulson Adebo, and recent vet signee Desmond Trufant. In Pro Football Focus 32 best cornerbacks list, Roby ranked 24th, and his numbers tell the story.

Last season in just 10 games of action, Roby was targeted 45 times and only gave up 227 yards. He was a sure tackle with 37 on the season with only three missed tackles. Roby also had seven pass deflections, one interception, and gave up three touchdowns.

Roby will be in year two of his recent three-year $36 million contract he signed last season. It’s quite possible that the Saints not only fixed a hole on their defense but filled it with cement for years to come.

A real building block in what could be a rebuilding process after the retirement of quarterback Drew Brees this off-season.

The trade to acquire Roby could mean the New Orleans Saints were one of the teams that has been calling George Paton about his cornerbacks. In recent weeks, not only has Bradley Roby been traded but the Seattle Seahawks also traded away Ahkello Witherspoon to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It’s possible those two teams inquired about players like Bryce Callahan and/or Kyle Fuller.
