2. Josh Johnson

Outside of Josh McCown and Ryan Fitzpatrick, Josh Johnson has been one of this generation’s most prevalent “Journeyman” quarterbacks. The 35-year-old has been with 13 NFL teams, and was a highly sought-after prospect for upstart leagues like the UFL, AAF, and XFL, spending time in all three.

He’s rarely been called on to play, having started 8 games in his career and playing in 33, but he is a smart, athletic player whose football intelligence has landed him clipboard jobs and spot starting gigs since 2008.

He’s just been let go from the New York Jets who are comfortable moving forward with a young QB room but could be a great option to stash on the back end of the roster and ensure that we always have a capable passer ready to step in.

Johnson would bring a steady veteran presence to the team as he’s used to being called on in dire situations, and this is a perfect fit.
