Denver Broncos: 4 trades the team should make at roster cuts
3. OT Andre Dillard from the Philadelphia Eagles
Calvin Anderson, in his third year with the Denver Broncos and third year under Mike Munchak, was unable to beat veteran Bobby Massie for the starting right tackle position.
Although Anderson’s inclusion in the competition was already a huge development, it’s fair to wonder about the tackle position in Denver beyond this season, at least on the right side.
Andre Dillard has been pretty strictly a left tackle, but the former first-round pick out of Washington State needs a change of scenery out of Philadelphia and would be a worthwhile reclamation project for the Denver Broncos.
No general manager is more ready and willing to deal than Howie Roseman, and George Paton has been involved in deals with him in the past.
Although Dillard is no lock to be traded by the Eagles, Philadelphia may agree that it’s time to maximize value for the former first-round pick and let someone else try to develop him.
If they decide to move on, he would be a very intriguing possibility for the Broncos. He’s only 25 and under Mike Munchak, you’d have plenty of reason to believe the best for the former first-round pick.
Given the fact that Anderson failed to win the right tackle job this offseason and Bobby Massie might just be in Denver for one year, it would be worth investing a bit into the future here if possible.
