2. CB CJ Henderson from the Jaguars

If you’ve been reading Predominantly Orange for a while, this might seem like a broken record.

If CJ Henderson is actually available, the Denver Broncos should be banging down the door to acquire him.

Many might wonder why and whether that’s actually the best use of the team’s assets.

It’s fair to wonder, so let’s talk about it.

Henderson was the 9th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft (Pat Surtain was the 9th pick in 2021) and has been buried on the Jaguars’ initial depth chart.

That doesn’t mean they’re necessarily going to trade him, but there had been rumors that some around the league felt he was available, and the Jaguars burying him on the depth chart was some evidence that could be true.

The Jaguars recently traded Gardner Minshew for next-to-nothing, so would they be willing to part with Henderson for a discounted price?

If that’s even a remote possibility, George Paton would be insane not to acquire. The Broncos have their top four cornerbacks healthy and ready to go to start the season, but CB5 Michael Ojemudia will miss time due to injury and nobody has really solidified themselves as CB6.

Furthermore, both Kyle Fuller and Bryce Callahan are free agents after this season.

CJ Henderson would upgrade the cornerback room now and into the future, and if he’s available, the Denver Broncos should be calling.
