Wide Receiver/returner Tyrie Cleveland

Tyrie Cleveland was a seventh-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2020. During his time at Florida from 2016-2019, Cleveland generated 79 receptions for 1,271 yards and eight touchdowns. He provided some help as a kick returner for Florida, returning 10 kicks for 242 yards during that time.

The biggest way for a seventh-round pick to make the team is his special teams abilities. For the Broncos in 2020, Cleveland returned ten kicks for 234 yards, including a long gain of 31 yards. Unfortunately, he only had six receptions for 63 yards and no touchdowns on offense. That’s not a good sign for him.

Cleveland may need to do something splashy on special teams to make himself a stronger candidate for the 53-man roster. It’s just that this wide receiver position for the Denver Broncos is so strong that only producing on special teams may just not be what the Broncos are looking for. With Trinity Benson seemingly a favorite to make the team, Cleveland could find himself on the outside looking in.

Maybe he will get an opportunity against the Rams on Saturday and take a kick to the house for a score. That would definitely make a decision more difficult for the team.
