Safety (4): Justin Simmons, Kareem Jackson, Caden Sterns, Jamar Johnson

Like the outside linebacker spot, the Broncos have one of the best combinations at safety in the entire league. It’s the depth behind Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson that is the question.

Rookies Caden Sterns and Jamar Johnson get those spots for now, but that is far from a guarantee.

Sterns has been great this summer and will almost certainly have a spot. Johnson, who has dealt with an injury, is more of a question mark.

Trey Marshall was injured on the opening kickoff of the preseason opener and that will hamper his ability to make the team, despite being a strong special teams player. P.J. Locke should get the chance to make something happen in the preseason and he will need to take advantage of every snap he gets.

Whoever gets the fourth safety spot will likely come down to the wire and could go to any one of those players.
