Even though the 2021 NFL season hasn’t started, it’s worth looking at players who may not be with the Broncos in the 2022 season.

Most goodbyes are tough.  For the Denver Broncos, they have several positions with a surplus of talent, and some of that talent may not be with the team in 2022.

I’ll touch on the five most likely players I think won’t be on the team come next season.

Denver Broncos players that won’t be on the team in 2022

1. Tim Patrick, WR

Tim Patrick enjoyed a career year with Denver in 2020 while Courtland Sutton was rehabbing a torn ACL.  Sutton’s injury played a factor in Patrick getting that much extra playing time, and he took advantage.

Teams expected Jerry Jeudy to be the Broncos’ WR1, but Patrick, at least for the first part of the season, was the team’s top target.

As it stands now, the Broncos boast one of the most talented wide receiver groups in the league, and Tim Patrick is a big reason for that. However, of the Denver Broncos’ top receivers, Tim Patrick is the oldest and probably has the lowest ceiling.

Not only that, there have been trade rumors surrounding Tim Patrick, namely the Baltimore Ravens recently calling about his availability.

All of Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and KJ Hamler are surely in the team’s long-term plans, and with many other notable players soon due for deals, Patrick is the odd man out.

Whether he gets traded during the 2021 season or leaves in free agency, I think Patrick is playing his final season in Denver.
