Why not?  In my opinion, the Seattle Seahawks are on the cusp of a rebuild–the contract negotiations with Jamal Adams aren’t going as planned, Bobby Wagner is getting old, and Russell Wilson apparently wanted out of Seattle earlier this offseason.

The Seahawks haven’t been relevant in the playoffs since 2014, and it’s worth wondering how much longer they can tolerate losing in the Wild Card or Division rounds.  In my opinion, if Seattle doesn’t make a deep playoff run this year, Russell Wilson will approach the team for a trade.

The Seahawks have wasted a good chunk of Russ’ prime, and some of their other good players are getting older.

Seeing as the Denver Broncos have a bit of a hole at linebacker, and seeing as they need to find a long-term replacement for Kareem Jackson, both Wagner and Adams can fill these voids.  The Broncos have the cap space to not only extend Jamal Adams but take on Wagner’s contract as well.

The rich get richer in this scenario, as the Denver Broncos already have one of the most talented defenses in the league. General manager George Paton has said he’d be in on every deal, so if by some off chance either one of these players are made available, the Broncos should inquire.

What about trade compensation?  I think the Broncos would have to give up either Kareem Jackson or one of their other young safeties, like Jamar Johnson or Caden Sterns, and one of their linebackers.

They’d also need to give up some hefty draft compensation as well.   For this trade to work, I think the Broncos would have to give up Alexander Johnson, Kareem Jackson, Jamar Johnson or Caden Sterns, and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023.

Seeing as the Seahawks are having trouble negotiating with Jamal Adams and his agency, they may not be pressed to get back a massive haul for the player, but the trade package I listed is quite large regardless.
