Pita Taumoepenu, Linebacker

The Broncos placed an extra emphasis on adding pieces at linebacker this offseason and Taumoepenu was one of the guys brought in shortly after the draft.

Now that things are starting to get settled at the position, the Broncos have the flexibility to move on from at least one of those guys here.

Taumoepenu is a former sixth-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers and has also spent time with the Arizona  Cardinals,  Seattle Seahawks and Falcons. He’s never had much of an impact on any of those teams and his short stint with the Broncos is likely going to end the same way.

Players such as Barrington Wade and Peter Kalambayi can easily be in this spot as well and it will likely come down to which linebackers could still have the best chance to show something as special teams players in terms of which are still safe to be with the Broncos at camp on Wednesday morning.

Taumoepenu draws the short straw here.
