This will sound familiar. The Denver Broncos have a competition at the quarterback position.

It seems that has been the case since Peyton Manning stepped away from the game. The Broncos have not had a clear-cut starting quarterback since then. The organization has wanted fans to believe in the likes of Case Keenum and Joe Flacco, but boy was that hard.

Though it remains to be seen who will emerge from the current competition between Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater, Broncos fans should be squarely behind Lock in the race. Though Lock could easily go the way of a guy like Lynch, let’s remain optimistic.

And this will be quite optimistic. If you have followed my writing here at  Predominantly Orange, you know that I have long been a supporter of Lock. That hasn’t changed.

The Broncos did exactly what they said they were going to do after hiring George Paton as the team’s general manager. They brought in an experienced veteran to push him, but they haven’t done anything to outright replace him.

The team could have traded for Aaron Rodgers or maybe made a more concerted effort to make that happen. Maybe not, but the idea was floated around for months.

The Broncos absolutely could have drafted Justin Fields. He was there for the taking, but the team passed on him.

That’s a big vote in the favor of Lock.

How will Lock respond in 2021, perhaps his last chance to take this team over? Here’s an idea.
