Tim Patrick 70 to 78 (+8)

The Broncos relied heavily on wide receiver Tim Patrick in 2020. That was in large part because Courtland Sutton went down with a season-ending torn ACL in week 1.

Patrick made the most of his opportunities. He was targeted 79 times (3rd) and hauled in 51 receptions (3rd) for 742 yards (1st) and six touchdowns (1st).

Being put in the position he was, it makes perfect sense that Patrick’s awareness would skyrocket from last year to this year. Well, I guess that depends on your definition of skyrocket. Last season, Patrick’s awareness was at 78. This year, it jumped four points to an 82 overall. Even second-year wideout Jerry Jeudy has a higher awareness rating (86).

Nothing against Jeudy whatsoever but that is fairly surprising. I guess Jeudy’s rebound game in week 17 made up for his week 16 game in which he had five drops.

Patrick stands at 6-foot-4, so naturally, he can outreach a lot of defensive backs. According to DraftScout.com, Patrick reached 37 1/2 inches in the vertical jump during the 2017 NFL combine.

Spectacular Catch: 82 to 86
Jumping: 89 to 89
Catching: 81 to 92
Catch in Traffic: 80 to 84
Short Route Running: 70 to 78
Medium Route Running: 68 to 77
Deep Route Running: 69 to 78
Injury: 77 to 85

The catching and route running differences are absolutely astonishing. It just goes to show that experience is the king of getting better. Patrick caught 64.6 percent of the passes thrown his way in 2020, which is the best of his career.

Look for Patrick to be one of the biggest pieces of the Broncos’ offense during the 2021 season.
