Noah Fant 74 to 83 (+9)

A solid weapon on the Broncos offense, tight end Noah Fant has shown that he has earned a ratings increase. The third-year pro gets a 9-point increase from last year.

Last season, Fant upped his game, catching 62 passes (40 in 2019) for 673 yards (562 in 2019) and three touchdowns. Despite his statistics don’t blow anyone’s mind, Fant has become a favorite target of quarterback Drew Lock.

In 2020, Fant was second on the team in terms of targets (93), but led the team in receptions with 62. That just goes to show how valuable the tight end position is for the Broncos offense, but specifically how reliable Fant is.

One of the things that stayed the same this year is Fant’s speed: 89 overall. I don’t know about you but realizing how the speed setting works in Madden, I would have thought Fant’s rating would be a little bit higher. At the same time, he is a tight end, so I can understand it being below 90.

In Madden 21, Fant’s awareness was at a 78 overall. Another year in the same system under Pat Shurmur and it bumped all the way up to 84 overall. That, as I’ve mentioned previously, is a big part of the players’ overall increase (or decrease in some cases).

Fant has been awarded a tremendous boost in every single route running category:

Short Route Running: 70 to 77
Medium Route Running: 66 to 74
Deep Route Running: 63 to 73
Release: 67 to 71

With improved quarterback play in 2021, Fant could far exceed these ratings and hopefully, he will be a top-10 tight end in the entire league.
