Could Indianapolis trade for Bridgewater?

While it might be unlikely that the Colts target Bridgewater over the guy that this article is actually about, they may be more interested in his veteran leadership and experience. It may seem odd for Denver to trade the veteran before he even takes a preseason snap, stranger things may have happened. It’s the NFL, so who knows.

The Colts and general manager Chris Ballard value veteran leadership, which was evident last season when they brought in former Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers and this year when they traded for Wentz.

With second-year quarterback Jacob Eason as the backup along with rookie Sam Ehlinger and the newly-signed Brett Hundley, there isn’t a ton of veteran experience on this squad.

Bridgewater would be a great vet for Ballard to bring in if they don’t end up going after Minshew and he would probably work well with Frank Reich’s offense.

With a great offensive line and a good run game, Bridgewater would be able to utilize T.Y. Hilton, Mo-Alie Cox, and the second-year receiver out of USC, Michael Pittman, Jr.
