Outside Linebacker Malik Reed, 74 overall

Malik Reed performed quite well in the absence of Von Miller throughout the 2020 season. He registered eight sacks to go along with 53 tackles, one pass defended and one forced fumble. He started 13 of 16 games played last season.

In Vic Fangio’s defense, there are different looks and schemes. That includes players coming in and out of games often. Reed will probably do that at least to start off the 2021 season. Von Miller and Bradley Chubb could have pitch counts to start the season because of their injuries (even though Miller appears to be ready to go). It’s safe to say that the Broncos don’t want to risk anything. They want to ease those two players in.

This will give Reed the opportunity to improve his game, and ultimately his Madden 22 rating.

Don’t get me wrong — a 74 overall for a player who has just one year of extensive playing time is tremendous but I feel as if that rating should be a tad higher based on what he did last year. Learning from Miller and Chubb is going to help Reed go a long way in becoming an even better player overall.

With how much Reed played last season, I definitely feel like his awareness rating of 75 is a little bit low.

Reed missed just three tackles in 2020, but his tackle rating is only 82. That makes me question how that overall is determined.
