Which Denver Broncos players will outplay their initial Madden 22 ratings?

The Denver Broncos had two players receive Madden 22 ratings of over 90 overall on Friday. Some other players had questionable ratings.

Earlier, I touched on the top-5 Denver Broncos in the 2022 installment of the video game. I did express my displeasure with some of those ratings already.

There are players that definitely should be rated higher in my opinion. Let’s start off on the offensive side of the ball with a guy who has played extremely well for the team in his two seasons in the league.

Which members of the Broncos will outplay their initial Madden 22 ratings? Here are three who I think will.

Tight End Noah Fant, 83 overall

Noah Fant has been a very reliable tight end for the Denver Broncos since he became the team’s first-round pick in 2019. He has caught 102 passes on 159 targets for 1,235 yards and six touchdowns.

Of those receptions, 57 have gone for first downs. That is over 50 percent of his receptions. Moving the sticks is obviously a huge part of the game.

Over 700 of Fant’s 1,235 yards have come after the catch.

The play of Fant will partially depend on the quarterback play, but at the end of the day, I feel like Fant will ultimately prove Madden rating adjusters wrong and he may even be able to put up numbers that will place him in the top-10 in those statistical categories.

That might be more likely if Teddy Bridgewater wins the starting quarterback job. Apparently, Bridgewater is a fan of the shorter passes, which could go in favor of tight ends so they don’t have to run so far before the catch.

On the other hand, Drew Lock appears to like Fant quite a bit, so maybe that will go the other way if Lock wins the starting job. Only time will tell. Until we see how he does in 2021, I believe that Fant’s Madden 22 rating should be a few overall ratings higher.
