Safety: Tedric Thompson

Signed just this week, Thompson is a perfect sleeper at the safety position, a spot where the Broncos look quite solid.

The team has Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson to form one of the best combinations in the league and behind them are two good looking rookies in Caden Sterns and Jamar Johnson.

Thompson may be familiar to Broncos fans as he spent his college career playing for the Colorado Buffaloes. He was a fourth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2017.

Last season, he spent time with both the Chiefs and Cleveland Browns and was out of the league until the Broncos signed him just a few days ago. He should get a chance to make the roster as a back end of the depth chart type of guy, providing he can contribute on special teams.

The Broncos have great starting safeties, but there could be some risk in having the primary backups being two untested rookies. That gives guys like Thompson, Trey Marshall and P.J. Locke a chance to step up and be that veteran backup.

Thompson has three career interceptions and he should still have plenty of gas left in the tank to make a push for a roster spot this year.
