4. Cowboys take a swing at Andrew Beck

Although the Dallas Cowboys boast a star-studded offense with quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott, and their top-flight trio of wide receivers, the tight end position is nothing to write home about.

Blake Jarwin and Dalton Schultz lead the Dallas depth chart here, and despite somewhat of a breakout last year from Schultz, Dallas could use the depth.

Andrew Beck wouldn’t necessarily come in and give the Cowboys a Travis Kelce or Darren Waller, but he might be a nice upgrade for Kellen Moore’s offense.

Despite some injury issues for the Broncos last year at the tight end position, Andrew Beck wasn’t really cracking the rotation. The Broncos opted instead for players like Troy Fumagalli, who was signed as a street free agent after not initially making the team out of camp.

When Beck is getting out-snapped by guys who were cut before the start of the regular season, it sort of raises some red flags.

He may simply not be a great fit in Pat Shurmur’s offensive scheme.

The Denver Broncos don’t exactly have the deepest stable of tight ends right now, so Beck may be someone they keep barring a training camp or preseason breakout. But if even one guy proves worthy of a roster spot instead, the Broncos may look to trade a versatile guy who can add depth to the tight end spot, fullback, and on special teams.
