Denver Broncos left guard Dalton Risner is ready to play football right now and is motivated to show it on the field.
In the newest episode of The Manely Broncos Podcast, Dalton Risner spoke on a variety of topics. One Risner spoke openly on his performance and evaluation along with expectations he has for himself.
He will be the first person to tell you he needs to play better. Risner also feels he played better than some gave him credit for last season. It was evident in speaking with Risner, he is motivated to shut up a lot of people and prove to the people who were right about him right.
Risner is one of the strongest humans on a football field. He showed on the podcast that his right pinky finger is hiding behind his right ring finger. Risner mentioned it was during a game where he lost his cool. It was also, however, a true depiction of who Risner is as a teammate and a player.
He will not back down when being pushed and also show support for his teammates. Risner epitomizes what it means to be a Denver Broncos player and role model for others. The Broncos left guard realizes the product is not what he, the team or fans want. This is one of the strongest reasons he feels a significant chip on the shoulder in 2021.
In the episode, you could see and hear the emotion was real from Risner. He is thoroughly not impressed with the product on the football field put forth by the Denver Broncos as a whole. One of the things he added to anyone who doubted the product on the field is he did not allow a single sack in 2020.
Risner also lauded the praise of Mike Munchak throughout the podcast. He mentioned Munchak’s name no fewer than five times in this episode. Obviously, there are misconceptions about offensive linemen and blocking. Risner talks strictly about assignments and how those get lost in the “grades” handed out by analytics companies.
Some people might say it was Risner’s responsibility to block this player when it was a completely different player’s responsibility. The only person who knows what really happens are those behind the scenes are players and coaches themselves.
Toughness and physicality are two things you cannot question with Risner. One of the strongest points in the running game has been the success of running off that left side. If Risner and left tackle Garett Bolles are playing at the top of their game they’re some of the best left side duos in the NFL.
Now that Bolles seems to honed in his aggression and athleticism, he is destined lock down the left side for a long while. Risner is more than capable of being a Pro Bowl guard in 2021 and after speaking with him it would not be a surprise if he achieved it.
Risner has achieved every single obstacle in his short career. He came from a small town in Wiggins, Colorado, and is playing for his home state Denver Broncos. Risner is currently achieving a life long dream and doing it at the highest of levels.
There most certainly have been bumps in the road and Risner is not afraid shut those people up. He is truly a football player in every sense of the word who takes pride in both on and off field work.
Denver Broncos trade options with the Miami Dolphins
The Denver Broncos have some strong relationships and ties with the Miami Dolphins. Will the two teams come together on any trades?
Simply put, Risner gets it and he’s ready to shut people up.
