“Where’s Von Miller?”

I’m sure some reading this will wonder that very question. The thing is, Miller is older and we’ve seen what he was. Who knows if he will transform back into that type of player in 2021 or beyond?

While it’s easy to hope, there are no guarantees. Why not protect two players at the same position as Miller that have shown that they can be productive—even if not registering as many sacks as the All-Pro and future Hall of Famer?

Chubb had 12 sacks in his rookie season in 2018, and after missing the majority of the 2019 season, came back and had 7.5 for the Broncos in 2020.

Both Chubb and Reed were ranked in the top-20 in terms of quarterback pressures during the 2020 season—Chubb with 34 and Reed with 33. Both ranked in the top-10 of the AFC.

The Broncos don’t have a whole lot of experience behind the big three in Miller, Chubb, and Reed. Letting go of the younger guys would be crushing.
