Denver Broncos: What 11 players would the team protect in an expansion draft if the league had a new team coming in for the 2021 season?

The Denver Broncos have some young quality players on their roster. There are some favorites across the board and some players who are simply just too good to let go of.

In the National Hockey League, a new expansion team, the Seattle Kraken, will be formed. Each team is required to ‘expose’ a certain number of players so that the team can be created—exactly like the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017.

On the flip side, they can protect some players.

Which players on the Denver Broncos would the team protect? It’s unknown what their thinking would be because it’s simply not happening in the NFL right now. Let’s just say it was, though. Here are 11 that could be considered.

Wide Receivers Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy

This could be a case of not wanting to let go of recent high draft picks, but anything that can keep a position group intact like this would be beneficial.

I get that you have Sutton coming back from an injury that wiped out all but 31 snaps in 2020, and Jeudy who tied for second in the league in drops as a rookie. I get that. That being said, Sutton has proven to be very important for the team since arriving as a second-round pick. Jeudy was in his rookie season in 2020.

It’s easier to say that Jeudy will be fine than saying the same about Sutton because of the injury severity, but I do believe that both will end up being great for the Denver Broncos.
