If you look at the Atlanta  Falcons’ all-time passing yardage list, only two quarterbacks in team history ever had more passing yards than Chris Miller. The Broncos were happy to add the veteran to their stable in 1999, but it’s largely forgotten that he was there.

He played seven seasons with the Falcons before going to the Rams in  1994. However, five concussions in the span of just 14 months forced him away from the league following the 1995 season.

About three years later, Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan was able to lure Miller back onto the field and he settled in as the Broncos’ third-string quarterback after several years off the field.

He ended up playing in three games for the team that season but unfortunately sustained yet another concussion. Shanahan helped convince Miller to call it a career at that point and he retired during the 1999 season.

Miller was a nice addition to Denver’s roster. His experience was great for a young Brian Griese to sponge off of at that time and he likely would have stayed around for several more years if not for all of the head injuries during his career.
