At one time, Nate Solder was one of the finest tackles in football, helping the New England Patriots to two Super Bowl victories.
He will be entering his fourth season with the New York Giants, but the ground is much shakier for him now than it once was. No longer is he a player who is guaranteed a spot on the roster.
Solder is now 33 years old and he is coming off a 2020 season that he opted out of. In addition, the Giants now have Matt Peart, who he would have to beat out for the starting right tackle spot. Those are some serious questions.
If the Giants moved on from him, he could be a player the Broncos looked into and there might be mutual interest.
Solder was born in Denver and then went to Colorado University after starring at Buena Vista in high school. For Solder, ending his career in Denver might be quite appealing.
If he were to be released, he could legitimately come in and be Denver’s starting right tackle ahead of Bobby Massie, Fleming and any of the other options on the roster.
