Wide Receiver Isaiah McKenzie

Broncos fans will remember Isaiah McKenzie, but sadly not for good reasons.

McKenzie was drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was not much of a receiver for the team, catching four passes off of 13 targets in two years.

McKenzie was primarily a return man in Denver. He returned 23 punts for 196 yards, as well as 17 kickoffs for 334 yards.

It was not until he was signed by the Buffalo Bills that he was effective in an offense. So far, in two seasons with Buffalo, McKenzie has scored two rushing touchdowns, six receiving touchdowns, and one touchdown via a punt return.

That’s something that hurts. It would have been amazing if McKenzie would have overcome his fumbling issues. That just was not meant to be in the orange and blue.

After his six fumbles with the Broncos, McKenzie did fumble twice with the Bills so far, but those two fumbles came during his initial year with that team. He has not fumbled in two years.

It is understandable that it takes time to adjust in the NFL. Unfortunately, it sucks to see a player succeed somewhere else after he failed to live up to expectations for your favorite team.

That being said, it is cool to see McKenzie do well for the Bills. Except, of course, when it is against the Broncos.
