Kick and punt return opportunities?

Although there is certainly no guarantee of this happening, the Denver Broncos may have to make some tough sacrifices on the roster that they simply didn’t have to make a year ago.

There will be plenty of pushback to this idea because you don’t want Hamler, who is expected to play a major role in the offense, out there subjecting himself to an injury in the return game.

With that being said, for the time being, Hamler is the clear WR4 on the offense and he’s also probably going to be fifth in the pecking order for targets if everyone is healthy going into the season.

If that’s the case, the Denver Broncos have to work to get him more involved, work to get him more touches and targets. One of the ways they can do that is by making him the primary return specialist.

Diontae Spencer is obviously very good at this, but Hamler is no slouch, either.

If Spencer can’t prove himself a worthy and viable offensive weapon in 2021, it’s not out of the question that he would be on the chopping or trade block.

Again, there’s no certainty in that — everything right now is hypothetical. This is just another way the Broncos could get the ball in Hamler’s hands and get him opportunities to make plays and either score on special teams or set the offense up nicely.
