More slot fades

When he was at Penn State, some of Hamler’s biggest and best plays came on slot fades or fade routes in general.

Here’s an example of how deadly this guy is on this particular concept.

The ability Hamler has to get a clean release off the line of scrimmage in press coverage against single-high safety looks makes him such a threat. You can see on this particular play the kind of separation he gets because of how panicked the defensive back is transitioning out of the backpedal and hoping the safety help has not been looked off.

This was not the only time the Denver Broncos tried this in the 2020 season, but they could do it with a lot more frequency even if Hamler is not the primary target.

He can really open things up for the other receivers on the team with his vertical speed and the attention that speed demands.
