4. November 23, 2014- vs. Miami Dolphins
By this point, Thomas had become one of the league’s best receivers and he showed out on this day in the Mile High City against the fish.
Thomas didn’t crack the 100-yard mark, but he caught 10 passes on the day and found the end zone three times. The Broncos needed each of those scores to outlast the Dolphins 39-36 in a shootout.
At this point in time, the Dolphins were not a competitive team, but they gave the Broncos all they wanted in a game just before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Thomas had two touchdown catches in the second quarter, scoring from five yards out and then catching a 14-yard touchdown with just 12 seconds left until halftime. That drew the Broncos to within 21-17 at the break.
The Dolphins had an 11-point lead going into the fourth quarter and Thomas caught another 5-yard score less than a minute into the final frame. That ignited a 22-point fourth quarter for the Broncos who were able to hang on for the narrow win.
