Courtland Sutton, Wide Receiver

Courtland Sutton is another player who is coming off of a serious injury that cost him the 2020 season. Well, all but 31 snaps.

In Sutton’s first two NFL seasons, he put up 114 receptions for 1,816 yards and 10 touchdowns. Broncos quarterbacks found Sutton for 81 first-downs and he adds to the strong receiving group of the Broncos.

Sutton put up 72 receptions for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns in 2019 while catching passes from three different quarterbacks throughout the course of the season. Those quarterbacks were extremely underwhelming: former Super Bowl winner Joe Flacco, journeyman Brandon Allen, and then-rookie Drew Lock (who started the final five games of the season).

The additions of Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler, paired with the return of Tim Patrick and Noah Fant, will surely allow Sutton to have plenty of opportunities to get open as teams can’t game-plan for everybody. Sutton will get open a lot in the upcoming season. It will be up to Lock or Teddy Bridgewater (or possibly a certain future Hall of Fame quarterback) to find Sutton when he gets open.

On another note, if the Denver Broncos do happen to acquire that certain quarterback (it’s Aaron Rodgers if you didn’t already guess that), Sutton would be destined for a magical year.
