The Broncos used a sixth-round pick on Williams, but he has just as good of a shot at starting his career on the practice squad as he does on the active roster.

Though Williams has good size at 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, he is a rookie and a late-round pick, so he will have to work his way through the muddy waters of the wide receiver depth chart the same way as the other guys.

But many of the other guys he will be competing against, outside of the undrafted free agents, have at least one year of NFL playing experience, even if it’s just been on a practice squad. More importantly, many of those guys have experience in Pat Shurmur’s offensive system and one of those guys in Hinton.

That will give him a leg up on a guy like Williams, who will have to fight off a lot of guys to earn a spot on the roster, depending on how many wide receivers the Broncos choose to keep.

Williams definitely seems to have enough raw talent to be a  future contributor for the team, but with all of these wide receivers now on the roster, it seems likely that at least a couple of them will outshine him this summer.
