Kendall Hinton could be a surprise pick to make the Denver Broncos’ 53-man roster in 2021.

If Hinton’s name doesn’t ring a bell, think back to one of the ugliest games in team history last season. It was Week 12 against the New Orleans Saints. That’s right, Hinton was the guy who was thrust into the starting quarterback role for that game.

Though it was a forgettable game statistically for Hinton, no one could blame him for the performance. It was a hopeless situation that he was put into, and he did what he could.

During the team’s recent mini-camp, the one player that coach Vic Fangio and some players on the team have had high praise for is Hinton.

Though Hinton was a dual-threat quarterback at Wake Forest in college, he will be looking to continue his playing career as a wide receiver. And he’s making the most of that this offseason.

Though the Broncos have a whopping 15 wide receivers on the roster, there is room for someone to come from out of nowhere to take a roster spot. That could end up being Hinton.

Could Hinton end up winning a roster spot?

The Broncos will have Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler, and Tim Patrick on the roster this season, but after that, the competition is wide open. Eleven other receivers have a chance to use training camp and preseason games to show out.

Based on the comments made by Fangio, one could conclude that Hinton could have the best shot at this point.

If he were to make the team, here are three guys who could be on the outside looking in at the end of the summer.
