5. Ed McCaffrey, WR

Like many others in Broncos Country, I’m still surprised that McCaffrey is not in the Ring. He was with the team for nine years and became a staple in the offense as Rod Smith’s partner in crime. He became one of John Elway’s favorite targets and really stepped up when the team was trying with Brian Griese.

McCaffrey finished his time in Denver with 462 Receptions, 6,200 Yards, and 46 TD’s, and helped deliver some of the most iconic moments in the 97/98 Super Bowl wins.

He’s 5th all-time in team records for receptions and yards, and 4th in TD’s. All of his compatriots at the top of these lists (save Demaryius) are in the Ring, and I don’t know how long McCaffrey’s contributions to the team can be overlooked.

A huge target even by today’s standards at 6’5″, his route running, body control, and sticky hands made him one of the NFL’s best in the Red Zone.

Hands down one of the toughest and most reliable targets in team history, this might be my least controversial pick in the minds of OG Broncos fans.
