Kary Vincent Jr., cornerback

Cornerback was the position the Broncos put the most emphasis on this offseason, and rightfully so. As a result, several of these spots are already wrapped up, because the team already had Bryce Callahan and last year’s third-round pick, Michael Ojemudia.

They then added Kyle Fuller and Ronald Darby through free agency before drafting Patrick Surtain in the first round. But how many corners will the Broncos keep?

I can’t imagine not keeping seventh-round pick Kary Vincent, who was an absolute steal at pick No. 237. But will there be enough room?

Essang Bassey was a great undrafted player a year ago, but Vincent is much faster and may have better overall skills at the Nickelback spot. The Broncos also have players like Nate Hairston, Duke Dawson and Parnell Motley, but Vincent has a higher upside than all of those guys.

It just seems that if the Broncos were to cut Vincent, hope that he clears waivers and then put him on the practice squad, he would be a candidate to be plucked off of there by another team sometime during the season.

While Darby and Fuller are both veteran players that can help in the immediate future, the Broncos need to pile up the young depth at the position and in my opinion, Vincent is the best under-the-radar player on the team.
