Tight End (3, 15/53)

Noah Fant, Albert Okwuegbunam, Andrew Beck

The tight end position for the Denver Broncos is going to be a fascinating one to watch as the 2021 offseason progresses.

Everyone knows that Albert Okwuegbunam will be the TE2 to Noah Fant, who is emerging as one of the top young tight ends in the game.

The question here is, how comfortable are the Denver Broncos with their depth here?

Fant dealt with some injuries in 2020 and Okwuegbunam is obviously coming off of a season-ending knee injury. Andrew Beck was not the team’s TE3 last season, and it’s probably fair to say he wasn’t even the TE4.

The Broncos used Fant and Okwuegbunam (when he was healthy) as well as Nick Vannett and Troy Fumagalli over Beck.

Beck is listed as a FB/TE by the official team roster, and his versatility on special teams is also key to making the team again in 2021.

His current competition is free agent acquisition Eric Saubert who signed for the veteran minimum on a one-year deal, rookie free agent Shaun Beyer, and 2019 undrafted gem Austin Fort.

I still think there’s a chance the Broncos will bring in someone like Zach Ertz here if the price is right, but there are other tight ends that could potentially be of interest.
