Melvin Gordon, running back

Melvin Gordon will be in the same shoes Phillip Lindsay was in last year, where the team has a starting running back but brings in a guy to push you for your job.

Gordon rushed for 986 yards and nine touchdowns during his first year in Denver while averaging 4.6 yards per carry. Gordon will be the team’s starting running back, for now.

The Broncos used their second-round pick on North Carolina running back Javonte Williams, a player the team traded up to make sure it got. Williams is a powerhouse of a runner and Gordon will have a hard time holding him off.

Gordon will be entering the final year of his contract with Denver and he will be looking to display the best version of himself in order to get a new deal with the team or show another team in the league that he is worthy of a new contract next season.

It will be an interesting year for Gordon, but Williams will press him for time early in the season.
