4. Eric Kendricks, LB, Vikings

Aside from a couple of minor moves to bring in guys like Shamar Stephen (DL) and Mike Boone (RB), we haven’t seen any major moves made by GM George Paton with his former boss in Minnesota Rick Spielman.

A deal between Paton and Spielman seems bound to happen at some point or another, and the Denver Broncos actually have some joint practices with the Vikings later this offseason to talk about things in person.

The Vikings have Kendricks under contract for another three seasons, so this would probably have to be a case where the Denver Broncos are giving up something of substantial value to upgrade at inside linebacker, but Eric Kendricks is a guy that would make some sense for Denver and it might make sense for the Vikings to let him go for the right value.

The Vikings have spent draft choices in the last couple of years on guys like Troy Dye and Chazz Surratt at linebacker, and they also brought in free agent Nick Vigil.

Although they don’t have any sort of obligation to trade Kendricks, getting his salary off the books could make some sense and Kendricks would fill a pretty major hole for the Denver Broncos who have starting linebackers Alexander Johnson and Josey Jewell entering contract years.
