Kansas Chiefs @ Denver Broncos- Week 18

The Denver Broncos’ first Week 18 matchup in league history is also the one that may be the best opportunity for the Broncos to get a second primetime game added to their schedule.

The Kansas City Chiefs, the winners of the Lombardi Trophy just two seasons ago, of course, have no issue landing primetime coverage, especially considering the atmosphere that Arrowhead Stadium brings to the television screen.

It is disappointing that the rocking scene at Empower Field, with full fan attendance in 2021, won’t be making a primetime appearance. However, all hope is not lost.

Both of the matchups between the Chiefs and Broncos, being scheduled after Week 12, are eligible to be flexed into another spot, like a Sunday Night Football game. However, as things stand now, much would need to happen for this to be considered. The Broncos would need to be playing playoff-ready football, at the very least.

However, if Aaron Rodgers finds his way to the Mile High City, the statistical probability that this game could be flexed increases dramatically.

If Drew Lock has a successful 2021 campaign, this game already has the makings of a potential showdown. However, Rodgers moving into the AFC West could make this one of the more appealing games of the season.

Of the three games with primetime criteria, this one is the one that could potentially still happen. However, unless the Rodgers sweepstakes are won by the Broncos, they may be taking a discount double (rain) check on flexing this one from its current spot.
