Week 2 at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Broncos head to Jacksonville in Week 2 and will get one of the more exciting (at least on paper) teams going into the 2021 season.

The Broncos will get a look at No. 1 overall draft pick Trevor Lawrence as well as new head coach Urban Meyer. There is also the chance that Tim Tebow will be wearing a Jaguars jersey in this game.

But it is still the Jaguars, a team with a combined record of 12-36 since reaching the AFC Championship Game in the 2017 season.

The Jags won just one game a season ago and though things figure to be better at some point with the combination of Lawrence and Meyer, it likely won’t start to happen this early in the season.

This is one of those games where if it were taking place later in the year, it might be a more difficult contest. Lawrence would have had more time to settle into the professional game and Meyer’s coaching strategies would likely be more effective.

Instead, the Broncos should be able to take advantage of a weak Jags team and get another victory.  Again, don’t expect a Broncos blowout, but they should be able to leave TIAA Bank Field with a ‘W’.
