2 – Patrick Surtain II vs Chris Simms

Surtain II (6-foot-2, 203 pounds) vs Simms (6-foot-4, 230 pounds)

In every fight card, there are fights that are almost certain, this would classify as one of those bouts.

For such a historic franchise, the Denver Broncos have never had a player who garnished praise wear the number two. After drafting Patrick Surtain II, this should change.

Surtain’s floor is higher than Simms’ ceiling ever was as a Denver Bronco. Immediately after the selection of Surtain, I was befuddled much like the majority of Broncos Country. It wasn’t passing on the quarterback for me, I just desperately hoped Paton would address the right tackle position.

That being said, not many players have a legend like Champ Bailey coming to their immediate defense. Within a couple of years, I think there will be plenty of number two’s roaming throughout Empower Field.

Surtain has the ability to come in and play right away, but I expect him to be competing at a Pro Bowl level by year three. Like the selection or not, this guy is going to be a stud for this organization for many years to come.

Simms was quite the contrary. This bout would be over with a simple two-piece and a biscuit.

Advantage: Patrick Surtain II
