Quarterback

A good team with solid quarterback play can always have a shot at making the playoffs. After free agency and the draft, it seems that this is the position the Denver Broncos find themselves in. The defense has certainly improved with the additions of Kyle Fuller and Ronald Darby.

That same team with a great quarterback will often find themselves with a shot at winning it all. The Broncos’ offense is loaded with young talent. The wide receiver corps contains the likes of Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler, Tim Patrick and is headlined by Courtland Sutton coming back off an ACL tear.

Elsewhere they have Noah Fant and Albert Okwuegbunam at tight end. Along with Melvin Gordon and 2021 second-round pick Javonte Williams at the running back position. With this level of talent, the offense is in a great place to make a massive jump this year.

That is of course if the quarterback play complies. Teddy Bridgewater has proven to have a solid baseline, with a limited ceiling. In Drew Lock, the Broncos have someone they have invested in and will need to make a jump if he hopes to maintain his position as the starter.

If the Broncos can get elite quarterback play then there is no reason they cannot make a run for the AFC Championship game at the very least. As long as there is hope that Aaron Rodgers can be brought to Empower Field at Mile High then the quarterback position will be one of need.
